FAQs

It can be daunting come to have a treatment for the first time.  Below are a list of questions I’m frequently asked, but if there is something else I’ve missed please ask.

Do you have parking/access to public transport?

Yes – to both!  As my room is home based, parking is on a residential street.  I have a fairly large drive and it is sometimes possible to park on there.  Feel free to use the drive when  you can. If you need to park on the street, please be mindful of allowing ease of access to other residential properties.
If travelling by public transport you have a couple of options; Theale Railway Station is a 10-15 easy walk, or Reading Buses operate good services from Reading & Newbury – with the closest stops less than 5 minute walk to Radiance.

How do I book an appointment?
You can either use the booking system, which gives you access 24/7: https://radiancetherapy.book.app/book-now
Email: sarah@radiancetherapy.co.uk
WhatsApp: 07720290465
Responses to Email/WhatsApp will be in working hours Monday-Friday 10-5pm

What should I expect at the first appointment?

Before arriving you will receive an online consultation to complete (for general admin) and on arrival we will discuss your answers, adding anything else deemed relevant.  I will then explain the treatment you have booked and it is time for you to relax!

What should I wear?

Something comfortable and loose is ideal.  What you wear may depend on the treatment you have chosen.

Massage – wear something easy to take off (you will remove clothing down to underwear, some people prefer to wear shorts).  As you will have a light covering of oil on your skin after the treatment you may wish to wear loose long sleeves/trousers afterwards to avoid any transference to your car. (I provide towels for those who wish to remove any excess, but this does also remove a therapeutic part of the treatment).

Reflexology – you will only need to expose your feet and lower legs, so comfortable clothes are good.  Socks and comfy shoes for afterwards will feel good and cosy. Avoid clothes that are tight around the tummy area (or anywhere else).

Facials/head massage – ideally you will remove the upper clothing, including underwear, allowing shoulders and neck to be exposed.  Please also note, I use coconut oil in your hair – let me know if this is not suitable for you.

I have heard that treatments are not suitable for everyone. Is this true?
On occasion it may not be possible to offer the treatment you are expecting!  This could be due to medication, an injury, an infection.  Where possible I will always try to adapt, or even swap to another treatment, however if something has changed that means treatment you have booked cannot go ahead  and you have not informed me prior to the treatment, this is classed as a cancellation – even if you are sat in the room.  This happens very rarely, when it does the treatment is charged in full and if you wish to return the next is treated as a new appointment.
Members: you are able to carry a single treatment over to the following month (where possible), meaning you have 2 available to use that month).

Do you offer pregnancy treatments?

Yes, you can have any of the treatments after your first trimester and throughout the rest of your pregnancy (providing all is well).  Some clients attend for fertility support.  If this is something you are interested in, please message me.

How long is a treatment?

The treatment vary in length from 30 minutes to 3 hours.  This is given as a guideline as there may be times when a little longer is needed, which is included in your advertised price; likewise there are times when a shorter treatment is more appropriate with a treatment charged at the advertised price. Working holistically means I am working with you on the day and with your body as presented, therefore each treatment is different and appropriate at the time.

How long will I be with you for?

For many clients the chance to ‘offload’ in conversation is a key part of the process, and I allow an additional 30 minutes to each appointment.  This gives you time to prepare for the treatment, and share your life updates without disrupting your treatment time.

How will I know if the treatment has worked?

After your initial treatment, you may feel instantly relaxed, calmer and a little tired; however some people do not notice an instant change.  This doesn’t mean the treatment hasn’t had an effect, simply we all feel things differently. You may experience tiredness, headache, even sickness – all perfectly normal as your body adjusts to the treatment.  The majority experience positive effects.   A rough guide of 3-6 treatments is useful to assess how the treatments are affecting you. Note: if you have a long term issue, there is not a quick fix.  Years of neglect of selfcare will take more unpicking and resetting.

Can I gift someone a treatment?

Yes of course, the treatments make lovely gifts.  On the booking system you will find a selection of vouchers for treatments or £ values.

What products do you use?

For massage I use carrier oils and essential oils which are blended at your appointment.  For reflexology and facials I use Temple Spa - https://spatogo.templespa.com/discover-our-story

I hope that has answered any questions, please message me if you have others.
