Milestones. Marking the 20th year of Radiance Therapy

ree

Hello! How are you today?

It’s the first thing I ask when you step into the Radiance Therapy treatment room. Not a filler question or polite small talk — but a genuine check-in. Because as a holistic therapist, I truly want to know how you are, right now.

It’s also how I like to begin my blogs — by checking in with you. Reading one of my posts is an investment in yourself: a little pause in your day, a few minutes to reflect, breathe, and reset. Whether you’re curled up with a cup of tea, on your lunch break, or scrolling on your commute, I hope it brings you a touch of comfort, inspiration, or simply a moment of calm.

Milestones

This year marks a huge milestone — Radiance Therapy turns 20!

If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll notice some exciting changes — refreshed branding, a new website, and a few beautiful treatment tweaks — all designed to enhance your experience of wellbeing and holistic care.

Twenty years is quite something. It’s a milestone that crept up on me — like so many life moments do. Some milestones arrive quietly, while others approach with anticipation (and perhaps a little pressure). Lots has changed along the way. When I started Radiance I was traipsing around as a mobile therapist - lugging a huge coach into houses, then I worked in a few clinics with other modalities, but always knew one day I would be working from my own place where I could create a safe haven for you to relax and escape your busy life.

Unlike a goal, which is an endpoint or destination, or an intention, which is more about the feeling and the journey, a milestone helps you recognise how far you’ve come. It’s a way to pause, reflect, and celebrate progress — no matter how small.

For Radiance, this milestone feels like a reset — a new era, a continuation of growth and evolution.

Milestones and Your Wellbeing

In holistic wellbeing, milestones are essential. They remind you that progress isn’t straight forward — it’s made up of moments, reflections, and gentle shifts.

Imagine this:

A client comes to me feeling lost after a relationship ends or a job changes.Their goal might be to meet someone new or find fulfilling work.Their intention is to feel confident and happy again.

Along the way, there are milestones — moments of progress worth celebrating:

  • Feeling comfortable spending time alone.

  • Saying “no” to something that doesn’t feel right.

  • Noticing genuine joy returning.

Each small milestone shows growth, even before the goal is reached. Sometimes, these check-ins lead to new directions — as feelings evolve, goals shift, and intentions deepen.

Does this resonate with you?

Have you ever found that your goals no longer fit who you are becoming? (I love this when it happens, because it shows when you are being true to yourself.)

Tip: Use milestones as gentle markers of change. They’re not rigid deadlines — they’re opportunities to pause, reassess, and realign. And remember: it’s perfectly okay to change your goals.

A Softer Way to Set Wellbeing Goals

When we talk about aims, goals, and intentions in the treatment room, it can sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable — like holding up a mirror to your life. Goals can feel big and heavy, especially when you’re already juggling so much.

That’s why I love milestones. They offer a softer, more compassionate approach to personal growth. They give you breathing space. Time. Permission to change slowly, with kindness. They feel more achievable.

Ready to Work on Your Own Milestones?

If you have a wellbeing goal, intention, or milestone you’d like to work on, I’d love to hear from you. Together, we can explore what’s next for you — and create a nurturing plan to help you move forward with clarity and calm.

You might wonder what a wellbeing goal could be. Below are a few examples showing how Radiance Therapy can help you feel better, live well and with success.

3 Examples of Wellbeing Goals, Intentions & Milestones

  1. Emotional Balance

    • Goal: Feel calmer and more centred day-to-day.

    • Intention: Prioritise peace over perfection.

    • Milestone: Start a short mindfulness or breathwork practice three times a week and notice when stress feels easier to manage.

  2. Physical Vitality

    • Goal: Improve energy and overall wellbeing.

    • Intention: Nurture your body with kindness, not criticism.

    • Milestone: Book a monthly massage or reflexology session, add a morning stretch, or drink more water consistently.

  3. Self-Connection

    • Goal: Reconnect with your sense of purpose and joy.

    • Intention: Make space for things that light you up.

    • Milestone: Spend one evening a week doing something purely for you — reading, journalling, walking, or creating.
